Dean Nash is a lifelong resident of the Kansas City area, born in Independence, Missouri and working as an attorney in Kansas City since 1993. After graduating law school from the University of Michigan, Dean clerked for the Honorable William Turnage at the Missouri Court of Appeals.   He also served as a law clerk at the Jackson County Circuit Court.

Dean practiced with Rich McLeod at The McLeod Law Firm from 1996 to 2003 when the firm name was changed to McLeod Nash & Franciskato. With his partner Brian Franciskato, he opened the Nash & Franciskato Law Firm in 2006. During his career, Dean has practiced in numerous areas of civil litigation including trucking and railroad accidents, personal injury and wrongful death cases, employment litigation, product liability claims, trust mismanagement actions and business-related litigation. Dean has represented injured individuals, as well as some of the largest companies in the country. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas, as well as the United States District Courts for the Western District of Missouri and Kansas.

Dean has developed a specialty in highway defect cases. Dean has obtained mutli-million dollar recoveries for people injured in accidents caused by highway pavement edge drop-offs. Dean says the most satisfying result came in the case of Melissa Horton, 19, who was killed in a one-car accident on Interstate 70 when the car she was riding in went off an unmarked drop-off. She left a 7-year-old daughter, Lindsay, to be cared for by Melissa's mother. Melissa's claim was settled and a structured payment schedule was established so that Lindsay would be financially secure.

Prior to attending law, Dean attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri where he majored in Economics, Political Science, International Relations and Public Administration, and graduated summa cum laude in 1990. Dean lives in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife Janet and their two boys, Reilly and Spenser. Janet is a vice-president and assistant general counsel at American Century where she practices securities regulation law. Dean and Janet are members of First Assembly of God in Lee's Summit, Missouri.
